Notice is given that a date of Saturday 13 September 2025 has been fixed for the election of trustees to the Kahukuraariki Trust.
Nominations Received
Nominations closed for eight (8) Trustees at 5.00pm on Wednesday 2 July 2025. The following people have been duly nominated:
Mangatōwai Marae (one vacancy): HETARAKA, April
Ōtangaroa Marae, (one vacancy): MANUEL, David
Taemāro Marae (one vacancy): RIPIKOI, JJ
Taupō Marae (one vacancy): WOOD, Waitangi
Te Kōmanga Marae (one vacancy): 1. KINGI, Roger 2. TUA, Joseph Teahu
Waihapa Marae (one vacancy): TEPANIA-ASHTON, Teresa
Waimahana Marae (one vacancy): MCILROY, Sandra
Waitāruke Marae (one vacancy): NELSON, Theresa
Elections not Required
As there was only one nomination received for one vacancy for Mangatōwai Marae, Ōtangaroa Marae, Taemāro Marae, Taupō Marae, Waihapa Marae, Waimahana Marae and Waitāruke Marae, physical elections are not required and April HETARAKA, David MANUEL, JJ RIPIKOI, Waitangi WOOD, Teresa TEPANIA-ASHTON, Sandra MCILROY and Theresa NELSON are deemed to be duly appointed.
Elections Required
As there are more candidates than there are vacancies to be filled for Te Kōmanga Marae, an election will be held between the listed candidates for this marae. Each adult registered member who affiliates to, and has identified Te Kōmanga Marae as their primary Marae for voting purposes, will receive a voting paper for the Election of Trustee from Tuesday 12 August 2025. Voting will close at 12 noon, Saturday 13 September 2025 and will be under the First Past the Post electoral system by postal and online voting, or in person at the Wāhi Pōti on Saturday 13 September 2025.
Return of Voting Papers
Votes can be returned by post (using the reply paid envelope provided in the voting pack), or online, or to a ballot box at the Wāhi Pōti.
Notice of Wāhi Pōti and Annual General Meeting
A Wāhi Pōti will be held on Saturday 13 September 2025 at Whangaroa College, 4157 State Highway 10, Kaeo from 10.00am until 12 noon. A ballot box will be available at the Wāhi Pōti for the hand-delivery of voting papers.
An Annual General Meeting will be held at 10.00am on Saturday 20 September 2025 at Taupo Marae, Taupo Bay Road, Taupo Bay. The result of the election will be announced at the Annual General Meeting.
Special Resolution Poll – Not Proceeding
The Trust wish to advise that the Special Resolutions Poll to amend the Trust Deed of Kahukuraariki Trust will not be proceeding at this time.
