Kia ora koutou,
Information about some aquaculture related webinars scheduled to start next week that you may be interested in joining. These will be run by Michael Nielsen and Timoti Gallagher (in attendance at the hui last week).
At the hui last week, we mentioned that MPI is holding a series of webinars on the key policies for aquaculture in the reformed resource management system and how the policies are meant to work.
The dates and times for the webinars are:
Session | Audience | Date | Time |
1 | Treaty partners | 5 December 2022 | 9.00 am |
2 | Treaty partners | 6 December 2022 | 12.00 pm |
3 | Treaty partners | 7 December 2022 | 6.00 pm |
4 | Open to all | 8 December 2022 | 9.00 am |
5 | Open to all | 9 December 2022 | 1.00 pm |
We anticipate each session will take approximately 2 hours. You will have an opportunity to ask questions about the presentation. These hui are not a chance to influence the aquaculture provisions proposed in the Bills, rather it is an opportunity to be fully informed on key changes to aquaculture management. If you are seeking changes to the policies and Bills, these must be communicated through the Select Committee process by lodging a submission.
If you are interested in attending any of the webinars and haven’t already registered, please get in contact with us at aquaculture@mpi.govt.nz and we will register your interest and send you a video link to the webinar(s). You can attend more than one session if you wish.
To support the hui, we have also made some documents on aquaculture in the reformed resource management available for you. You can view these documents here if you wish (I have attached the main PDF pānui, but there are also two other Documents on the link that you may like to read for broader context). Please treat these documents as confidential and not to be shared beyond your organisation.
