Our 181 year Commemoration the Battle of Kororāreka is Wednesday  11th March 2026 beginning at 6.45am up at Te Maiki

There will be a minibus available at Marae to transport people up as limited vehicle access  and entry will be monitored by Kia Tupato

 

Following the service at Te Maiki we will go to Christ Church to acknowledge both Te Kohatu and The Hazard Grave. After this you’re welcome to come to Haratu for the raising of the Kara designed by Lyall Hakaraia and gifted to the Marae,Whitiwhiti Korero and presentation of Paraikete to Tamariki te kura o Kororareka. 

 

We would appreciate if whanau can let us know asap if you can attend for our Marae to ensure we can manaaki the numbers.

Representatives of Te Taua Moana NZ  Navy, Ngāti Tumatauenga NZ Army and Ngā Pirhimina o Te Tai Tokerau Northland Police,Ngati Wai Kaumata kapahaka will join us.
