Who are we?

We are from Te Pūkenga Otago Polytechnic, from Te Kura o Whakaora Ngangahau/School of Occupational Therapy

What are we doing?

We are exploring delivery of the Whakaora Ngangahau/Occupational Therapy program in Te Tai Tokerau, using an apprenticeship model.

Why are we doing this?

We believe that an apprenticeship model will make the training more accessible and feasible for prospective students and their whānau; and will ultimately grow the occupational therapy workforce in Te Tai Tokerau.

What are we seeking?

We invite input from any person or group who are interested so that the education opportunities are co-created in a way that will best work for the communities of Te Tai Tokerau.

Who is welcome?

Prospective students, iwi representatives, prospective employers of occupational therapists, health care providers (mainstream, NGOs, private), occupational therapists, health care educators, Te Pūkenga kaimahi, and anyone else who would like to contribute.

How are we doing this?

We have gatherings planned in:

Whangārei 9th May 9.00am – 3.00pm,
